Laminate Care

Dust Daily

As easy as it is, dusting is one of the most underestimated steps in the laminate care regimen.

Daily dusting prevents scratches while extending the beauty and life of your floor. It also reduces allergens that linger on the surface.

Deep Clean Occasionally

Over time, regular debris that cannot be swept or dusted builds up on your floors.

Use a cleaner specifically designed for pre-finished laminate flooring to clean your floor. Avoid using excessive water as it may damage laminate flooring.

Clean Spills Immediately

Use a dry or slightly damp cloth to wipe up anything you spill. Avoid wet or steam mops because they can damage your floors over time.

Use Furniture Pads

While some scratches are inevitable, others can be prevented. One of the easiest ways to prevent them is to add furniture pads to the legs of your chairs, sofas, tables, etc.

Additional Tips

  • Avoid using soap-based cleaners or wax on your laminate floors.

  • Avoid wearing high heels inside because they can cause scratches or gouges.

  • Avoid string mops because they put excessive amounts of water on the floor.

  • Maintain a comfortable environment without extreme humidity and temperatures.

  • Use rugs or door mats in high traffic areas to reduce wear.

  • After mopping, use a dry mop to ensure no water is left on the laminate.

  • Keep your pet’s nails trimmed to minimize scratches to the finish.

  • Avoid steam cleaners, jet mops, and abrasive scrubbing tools.
