As easy as it is, dusting is one of the most underestimated steps in the LVP flooring care regimen.
Daily dusting prevents scratches while extending the beauty and life of your floor. It also reduces allergens that linger on the surface.
Deep Clean Occasionally
Over time, regular debris that cannot be swept or dusted builds up on your floors. You can wash your floor with a floor cleaner or neutral detergent.
Clean Spills Immediately
Use a dry or slightly damp cloth to wipe up anything you spill. Avoid wet or steam mops because they can damage your floors over time.
Use Furniture Pads
While some scratches are inevitable, others can be prevented. One of the easiest ways to prevent them is to add furniture pads to the legs of your chairs, sofas, tables, etc.
Avoid using vinegar, bleach, ammonia, or any high-pH detergents.
Avoid using paste wax or solvent-based polishes.
Keep your pet’s nails trimmed.
Avoid wearing high heels inside because they can cause scratches or gouges.
Avoid using abrasive scrubbing tools.
For rug underlayments, avoid using rubber or latex-backed mats (after time, the material breaks down and will stain your floor).
Use a non-staining vinyl mat or a woven rug underlayment.
